Close Personal Protection Bodyguard

The Security Institute has developed a comprehensive Close Personal Protection (CPP) program that meets the minimum training requirement for licencing.

This course is one of Australia’s longest running bodyguard program which has undergone constant development since inception in 1988. The format follows the competencies in both the Public Safety & Asset Security Training Packages.

It provides training techniques which are easy to learn and are easily employed in stressful situations. This course is designed to meet the requirement for licencing and is a entry level protection course. It concentrates on real-life close personal protection requirements utilising the latest Australian & international methods & training techniques. Our instructors, with a combined 30 years operational experience in Security law Enforcement & Overseas Deployment have developed the course using real world experience.

Some of the topics covered include

Walking Drills – Introduces the skills required to correctly escort a client into & out of crowds, buildings, rooms, etc. Learn walking drills & escort formations using one or multiple person formations.

Route Planning – Learn how to plan your client’s journey using essential protection knowledge. These plans, along with Advance Planning are the building blocks of any close personal protection operation.

Operational Practice – We throw you into the “thick of things” by conducting a bodyguard operation on your first day with some of our clients! This type of training, pioneered by the Security Institute over the past 15 years, increases your learning dramatically by adding that element of realism.

Assignment Preparation - Advances, route planning, communications, contingency plans, threat assessments, legislative requirements & security review.

VIP Protection – threat assessments.

Etiquette – Learn the basics of etiquette in regards to greetings, eating a meal, etc when dealing with your clients & associates.

Personal Escort – Acting as a close protection agent in a personal environment. Discussion & practice of additional duties & roles.

Scenario Training – Run practical operations with a close protection team. Escort clients as they go about their business & learn ‘on the job’.

On completion you will obtain the following unit to add the Bodyguard function onto your licence:
